Face Washing 101

The way you wash your face can change the way you look. Follow these expert tips to maintain a healthy appearance.



- Use a gentle, non-abrasive cleanser that does not contain alcohol.


- Wet your face with lukewarm water and apply the cleanser with your fingertips. Using a flannel, mesh sponge or anything other than your fingertips can irritate the skin.


- Don't be tempted to rub your skin, as this irritates it.


- Rinse with lukewarm water and pat dry with a soft towel.


- Apply moisturizer if your skin is dry or itchy. Gently apply the cream around the eyes so as not to pull too much on this delicate skin.


Limit washing to twice a day and after sweating. Wash your face once in the morning and once in the evening, as well as after heavy sweating. Perspiration, especially when wearing a cap or helmet, irritates the skin. Wash your skin as soon as possible after sweating.
